Incorporated in Singapore, Hup Soon Global Corporation Limited is the holding company for the HSGC Group’s operational subsidiaries and associated companies. The Group is principally engaged in the marketing and distribution of agricultural and industrial equipment, automotive aftermarket products, industrial supplies, and the manufacturing of automotive batteries through its “Borneo Technical”, “Anglo-Thai”, “Kwikpart”, “FactoryPro” , “United Motor Works (Siam)” and “Yokohama” trade names in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.

The “Borneo Technical” and “Anglo-Thai” companies can trace their heritage to The Borneo Company and Anglo-Thai Corporation, respectively, which are two of the oldest and most respected trading houses in Asia. The Borneo Company, for example, established operations in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand as early as 1856 while the Anglo-Thai Corporation commenced operations in Thailand in 1947.

Today, the HSGC Group distributes to over 20,000 customers in the region through its extensive proprietary distribution networks in Malaysia and Thailand.

Equipment

The Group markets and distributes various equipment such as agriculture tractors and material handling equipments. In Thailand, the Group represents the New Holland brand of agriculture equipment and provides after-sales parts and service support for Allison transmission systems.

The Group also distributes material handling equipment and is the exclusive distributor of the Mitsubishi brand of forklifts in Thailand, where it markets and sells material handling equipment as well as providing after-market maintenance service and parts. The Group also maintains a fleet of forklifts for rental to customers. Furthermore, the Group holds a strategic stake in Nichiyu Asia Pte Ltd (NAS), the Asian distribution arm of Nippon Yusoki Co. Ltd, which manufactures electric material handling equipment under the Nichiyu brand.

Automotive/Industrial Consumables

The HSGC Group distributes and markets a broad range of automotive aftermarket products as well as industrial supplies. The automotive products distributed by the Group range from batteries to shock absorbers, lubricants, timing belts, filters, brake shoes and tyres, while the industrial supplies include such items as hand tools, abrasives, adhesives and safety products commonly used in factories as well as electrical products and switchgears. The Group represents both internationally renowned brands as well as its own.

With its extensive proprietary distribution network spanning Malaysia and Thailand, combined with in-depth knowledge of the market and established customer base, the Group effectively and efficiently connects sellers and buyers.

In Malaysia, the Group has a proprietary network consisting of 15 stocking points and 19 sales offices covering East and West Malaysia, through which it distributes the automotive aftermarket products and industrial consumables to about 10,000 wholesalers, garages, workshops, tyre service centres as well as industrial end-users.

In Thailand, the Group’s Automotive/Industrial Supplies business is conducted through its network of 11 sales offices located throughout the Kingdom reaching both dealers as well as end-users. The sales offices are supported by 6 warehouses strategically located to ensure timely delivery to branches and ultimately to better serve its 10,000 accounts.

Manufacturing

Through its subsidiary Yokohama Industries Berhad (YIB and formally known as Tai Kwong Yokohama Bhd), the Group is a leading battery manufacturer in Malaysia. Listed on Bursa Malaysia, Yokohama Industries Berhad has manufacturing plants in Selangor with an installed capacity for over 160,000 automotive and 160,000 motorcycle batteries per month. It is also one of a few battery manufacturers with in-house lead reclamation capabilities – the company can reclaim over 900 tons of lead from scrap batteries per month. The Yokohama brand of batteries is considered a market leader in Malaysia and is also exported to many countries around the world.
